Gate Languages opened its doors on October 1, 2015 in beautiful Orange County, California. Founder Pat Arnao, who had been volunteering teaching Spanish at all levels since 2003, started the school with the mission of building communication bridges to foster multicultural understanding. Pat saw teaching Spanish in after school programs at the schools her daughters attended in Huntington Beach as a great opportunity to start her multicultural understanding crusade. Since then, Gate Languages has been helping kids and adults all over Orange county develop not only strong communication skills but also better understanding of the role regional cultural traits, customs, and traditions play in the use of Spanish in the different areas of North America, Central America, South America, and Spain.

Gate Languages is a local language school, facilitator of intercultural enrichment, and consulting firm specializing in teaching languages using a methodology that ensures its students are effectively learning to speak a second language while having fun under the supervision of highly educated and trained native speakers.

In addition to teaching languages, we also want to help reduce linguistic barriers to communication by facilitating the understanding of documents, and messages in general, through accurate translation and advice.  An important element of our philosophy is that we believe communication challenges are usually originated by misunderstandings of basic socio-cultural aspects of the communities that speak any given language.  

Our methodology emphasizes awareness of cultural differences and promotes ways to fully understand phrases and sentences in their right context from a linguistic, social, and cultural perspective.
